Knowledge and Understanding of the World display – Rainbows

We had a wet weather focus week the first week after Christmas to focus on “w” and explore the Knowledge and Understanding Thread of our learning.

We talked about rain, puddles, wellies, mud, slipping (the irony), where rain comes from, snow, and rainbows.

We talked about how the sunlight goes through the raindrops and splits into the 7 colours (I even used the refraction for a couple of children that seem to know everything before I teach it).  Who said that expectations aren’t high in EYFS?

They loved it.

So we made rainbows using pastels and then collaged raindrops. a cloud and a sun and I made a display!

Do you like it?
